They seem to be really specific. Like they only test one line, (or they can test two lines for men) instead of all your DNA. And none of the sites explain it in a clear way. Why can't they test all of a person's DNA instead of just one or two lines? I want to know what ethnicity my Dad's Mother is, yet it seems they can't test the DNA of that relationship, or if they can by my Dad getting the test, they might test the wrong line of that ancestry and still not find out what I want to know. If you can answer the question without using words like "markers" and "haplogroup" I would appreciate it. The testing sites use all kinds of confusing jargon instead of just telling you what they do.
GGrotke- I am looking at the ancestry testing sites, not the paternity test places. They only test one line whether it is the paternal DNA or maternal DNA, they say it is only a small percentage and can locate that line way back for you.
