I heard that genetic DNA tests (Genetic genealogy) is very useful for finding your roots such as Family Tree DNA

The classic way of finding your origins are from Records. However, I don't think I will get that far. I live in the United States, while most of my family members live in the phillipines. I have asked them about any records and they can't help me.
So what should I do if I have limited information with records, but could go further with genetic genealog
