Genetic Memories?
This may be a different type of question, but it has made me think...I have done extensive research in the past few months into my family tree. I have found surnames in my tree I didnt know I had ...and they have been my best friends last names (very unusal names, not like Smith or Jones).
There are places that are my favorite places, or I have felt at home there just visiting... now tracing back, I have found my direct ancestors lived there. For example most of my life I was told I was of German descent, as a child I used to ask all the time about where was my kelpie...Now I find out that Im a direct descendant of the family that had the castle on the banks of Loch Ness, Im scottish....
Is it possible to have past memories in our genes, of people and places from the past? Or are we drawn to strangers that might have portions of our DNA? The more Im researching the more Im seeing parallels....I would love your thoughts...
