okay with all these new genetic tests that have been done, the results show that the majority of the population in England are the same as the welsh and very similar to the scottish and irish. so this means that the anglo-saxons(and other germanic people) havent affected the whole population.
however the east part of England places such as Norfolk and York have most germanic ancestry.
my fathers from Gateshead in the North East. i want to know whether hes an anglo-saxon or a native briton. with the strong influence of the scandinavians apparently most people here have descendants from across the north sea, but im not really sure :(

he looks anglo-saxon, his last name is webber (apparently a german name, but that would be from recent ancestors) but im not sure and i cant afford to get him to do the Y-dna or mitochondrial dna tests.
