Participants can order either a Y-DNA test to find out about their direct paternal line (your father, your father's father, your father's father's father, etc) or an mtDNA (mitochondrial DNA) test to learn about their direct maternal line (your mother, your mother's mother, your mother's mother's mother, etc). The only requirement for joining the project is that participants must have a documented paper trail to Devon on the direct paternal line for the Y-DNA test or on the direct maternal line for the mtDNA test. Based on their test results, ten have been connected to the Pease brothers who came from Great Baddow, England in 1634. Of these ten, seven are genetically linked to the older brother, Robert, and three are genetically linked to the younger brother, John.
The pedigrees and DNA test results for all eleven members are now posted on the World Families website and can be viewed by guests. No registration is required. By using this link, http://worldfamilies,net.surnames/pease/, you can be taken to he Pease Surname Project's Home Page. Go to the links at the top of the page. Click on the "Y-Results" link to see the DNA results and click on the "Patriarchs" link to see the direct line pedigrees. By noting the member's ID you can match up their pedigree with their DNA results.

I have an obit. written by my ggg-grandparents that states James Jones was murdered by a Thomas Hutson about 1830 at a town hall meeting or some public meeting. This has been a brick wall for me as I have traveled all around that area & can find no record of it. (Before newspapers) However, I did find in the Jefferson Co., IN Courthouse records where they argued over some crop sharing. Let me know, if you can relate to this. My ggg-grandmothers name was Susanah Cowan. Her father was James Jones who was married to (Katy) Williams. Susannah was only 2 yrs old when this took place.
