Do native americans come from Asia?

rusalka asked:

also the peruvians etc also look asian? do they just have some asian ancestry? did asian fleets explore the US before europeans? I also read that Native American DNA and Asian DNA are alike.

  1. Kevin J Davis Says:

To my knowledge Indians (native Americans) decended from the Asian Mongols.

  2. Arby Says:

I guess not. Indians are not Asian.

  3. cwstufff Says:

Presumably, all humans on the American Continent came across from Asia into Alaska and headed south. Therefor, all Inuits, Native Americans and South Americans were originally from an Asian people.

It would be interesting to do DNA comparison with
    indigenous Americans, and the mongols.

  5. Siksika Child of the Earth Says:

There are several theories on this subject and none are yet proven at this point. At this point there have been genetic similarities found between, Asians and Caucasian, Hispanic and Caucasian, North and South American Aboriginal and Caucasian, Asian and North and south American, Hispanic and Asian, Latino and Asian, Asian and African, African and Caucasian, Hispanic and African, South American aboriginal and African, Native American and Hispanic. Basically at this point in research they are finding links between most ethnicity’s.
When it comes down we are all linked, we are human. I see no useful purpose in this research.
